First Swap — Buy HFX

This tutorial walks you through buying HFX tokens on PancakeSwap using BNB or USDT. The entire process takes under 2 minutes once your wallet is connected.

Before you start

• Your wallet is connected to BNB Smart Chain (Connect Your Wallet if not)
• You have BNB or USDT in your wallet
• A small amount of BNB is needed for gas (~$0.20–0.50)

Steps

1. Open PancakeSwap — go to pancakeswap.finance/swap

2. Set the output token to HFX

   • Click the token selector on the bottom field
   • Paste the HFX contract address: 0x697680a0A15b2Ce301Db54214d961C2a0E239E12
   • Select HFX from the results and confirm the import

3. Set the input token — BNB (default) or USDT

4. Enter the amount you want to spend

5. Review the details:

   • Price impact — should be under 1% for small amounts
   • HFX buy tax: 5% is applied by the token contract on purchase
   • Minimum received after slippage

6. Click Swap — confirm the transaction in your wallet popup

7. Wait for confirmation — typically 3–6 seconds on BSC

8. Add HFX to your wallet — paste the contract address to see your balance: 0x697680a0A15b2Ce301Db54214d961C2a0E239E12

Important — the 5% buy tax

HFX has a 5% tax on purchases. This is applied by the token smart contract and is visible in the PancakeSwap preview as "price impact". It is not a slippage issue — it is by design.

If you plan to stake HFX after buying, note that the staking contract applies an additional 5% allocation fee, bringing the effective entry cost to 9.75% compared to entering with USDT directly. See Investment Strategy → for details.
